On May 21, the OIT Information Security team will implement the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keystroke sequence for signing in to all UT-owned and grant-funded computers. On this date, upon waking your Windows computer, the only way to activate the familiar computer sign-in process is by entering Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your keyboard.
How will this affect your computer and how you work?
While Ctrl+Alt+Delete is not a new process for securing your Windows machines, you may be accustomed to touching any button on your keyboard to activate your laptop or device from sleep mode or start-up. Following this change, waking the computer will display a lock screen until the new sequence is entered. To assist you in building this new habit, you will see a prompt on your screensaver reminding you to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to sign in.
