Google has implemented new storage limits for their higher education plans and removed the unlimited option. Because of this change, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) will apply quotas to all UT Google Shared Drives on January 18, 2023. 99.9% of UT Shared Drives are within the new limits.
The new standard Shared Drive quota is 100 GB. If you are using a Shared Drive, OIT recommends reviewing your current usage and deleting any unnecessary files. You may also want to consider using Microsoft 365 services.
- The standard quota for OneDrive for Business is 5 TB.
- For files shared among a group, consider using Microsoft Teams. Up to 25 TB is available for a Microsoft Team.
If your Shared Drive exceeds the newly established limit, you will have additional time to clean up your files.
